The Utah Tax Restructuring and Equalization Task Force has proposed an updated tax structure that can provide more flexibility in funding state programs while providing an overall tax cut for Utahans.
This proposal will:
Lower the state income tax rate by at least .25%
Expand the “Utah Dependent Exemption” provision of the taxpayer tax credit
Create an income tax credit for certain Social Security retirement income
Create a “Grocery Tax Credit” for low-to-middle-income residents
Contact your legislators to show your support for this common-sense reform effort.
With Utah growing faster than any other state in the country and with an outdated tax structure in place, there is a burgeoning belief that tax reform is necessary to help resolve the state’s fiscal issues.
